Home Remedies for Stretch Marks with Home Recipe Vanilla Stretch-marks Rich Body Butter

Stretch marks or striae (stria), are a form of scarring on the skin caused by tearing of the dermis, and over time can diminish but not disappear completely.

Although stretch marks are generally associated with pregnancy and obesity, they can also develop during rapid muscle growth.
Various home treatments are available for the purpose of improving the appearance of existing stretch marks, but the best results are achieved on recent stretch marks
Firstly you need to keep your skin well moisturized in order to be soft and elastic. The skin needs to be more elastic to have less the chances of it stretching, distorting and breaking underlying fibres.

  • Cocoa butter is a well known home remedy, it is used for both preventing stretch marks and treating them.
  • Coconut Oil is a great moisturizer on its own as it is readily absorbed and does not leave a greasy residue.
  • Shea butter is very helpful with the healing process and is works as wonder to dry and damaged skin keeping it soft and elastic.
  • Olive oil is another excellent moisturizer, is easily absorbed by the skin, you can apply lots of it regularly.Almond oil, castor oil, avocado oil can also be used in the same way.
  • Aloe Vera gel Mix with fresh lemon juice, it can be applied to the scars, so that they fade quickly. The fresh Aloe leaves from the aloe plant can also be used.
  • Vitamin E. Break the capsules and apply the oil directly on the affected areas. Apply lots of it everyday, it helps to restore and to heal existing scars.
  • A paste of turmeric and milk can make the skin fairer for the scars to become less obvious. The paste is washed away after it dries on the skin.
  • Brush the skin with a scrub or loofah when you take a bath or shower to improve circulation.
  • Lemon applied to the skin can help get rid of stretch marks. Fresh Lemon gently “bleaches” the skin, it contains component similar to alpha Hydroxy to aid skin repair and Vitamin C in citrus fruit that also helps repair the connective tissues.
  • White vinegar also gently “bleaches” the skin and it strips away the top layer of the skin while restoring its PH balance, leaving the skin healthier.
  • Wheat germ oil is very nourishing to the skin, prevents moisture loss, and soothes irritated skin. It is thickish and sticky, but blended with other oils, makes rich ingredient and is a good addition to stretch marks creams and lotions.
