How to Make Calendula Healing Oil and Calendula Healing Balm.

How to Make Calendula Healing Oil and Calendula Healing Balm.
Not only for Baby nappy rash, Calendula oil or balm is also very useful for soothing and healing for eczema, dermatitis, and all type of wounds.

Recipe Calendula Healing oil
Part used: flower – Calendula dried flower petals -1 cup olive oil.
  • For very dry skin you can use Macadamia oil or Almond oil
  • For Oily skin you can use Grape seed oil or Jojoba oil
Instructions: The basic here is enough oil to barely cover your quantity of dried herbs. Put the dried herb into a Pyrex double boiler and cover with olive oil. Heat the oil and herbs for 1 to 2 hours, very gently, keeping temperature well below boiling and stir often. Strain the oil through a clean cloth into a sterile container. Add 20 drops of vitamin E per cup of oil to the oil after the heating process, your healing oil will preserve for a year without going rancid.
Calendula oil can be used alone or as the first step in making Calendula Healing Balm.
Recipe Calendula Healing Balm (100grs)
1/4 (25grs) Beeswax and 3/4 (75grs) Calendula Healing Oil
Instructions: Put the beeswax and the Calendula oil into a Pyrex double boiler. Heat very gently until the mixture is melted. Remove while still warm, and pour into clean containers and leave open until completely cool.
Label each jar with contents and date, be sure to note date your herbal oil was made if it is much older than your cream. It should stay fresh for a year or so.
A great recipe to give as present for every one, especially for Mum with a toddler, or for Grand Ma bruising so easily.
They are a "must" in your emergency kit ready to heal any little daily wounds and bruises.
Happy Skin care making! Marlene Daniels
