5 Mineral Make-upTips For Flawless Mature Skin

Mineral Make-up Foundation are terrific to help keep mature skin looking matte, being more hypo-allergenic and non-comedogenic and are truly effective at making the skin look younger by hiding the fine lines and wrinkles common in an ageing face.

Natural minerals are very finely ground, light, easy to apply and cover all kinds of imperfections, dark circles, age spots, freckles and sun damage. They cover the flaws, and let the real you shine through.

Tip 1- Use Aloe Vera gel as a primer.

Aloe Vera gel is cheap, pure, natural, healing the skin, not greasy or sticky like a moisturiser and dries quickly on the skin. It will cover your face with a very light thin coat to create a smooth setting for your Make-up and will keep your skin smooth and comfortable throughout the day. Aloe Vera contains a natural sunscreen, making it perfect for day time Mineral Make-up primer. It is also very astringent, creating an instant mini lift very useful in the morning!

Tip 2- Stay away from commercial Mineral foundations that are "light reflecting"

Often advertised for mature women, as a way of reclaiming a youthful glow. In fact the light will reflect off the peaks but not in the troughs, making your wrinkles even more obvious. Mature women cannot use any shine, sheen, pearl or glow in their foundation. That even means minimal sericite. Absolutely no extra sheen Mica such as Satin Pearl, Pearl white; they do enhance the fine lines and the wrinkles. Shine has tendency to get absorbed into the creases, reflecting the light and showing more the fine lines and wrinkles.

Tip 3- Your Mineral Foundation must match perfectly your skin tone.
For a modern natural look and for foundation coverage, you want a make-up that once it is applied is virtually invisible on the skin. You will know the best color because it will disappear into your skin and match completely .If you can see the difference between the colour of your skin and the make-up you just applied, it won’t look natural.
Don't try to correct your skin tone with your foundation shade, it will not work, use a correctors or concealers instead.

Tip 4- Apply your foundation with a large brush or Kabuki.

Mineral make up sits on the skin, not in your pores, it doesn't cake or leave lines like other powders or creams. The Kabuki brush provides the face with a flawless finish in a matter of a few minutes. The trick is to apply light layers and build up to get the coverage you want. Incorrect application of a foundation can lead to a caked appearance, You will find it hides the wrinkles more than the cream ones.

Tip 4- Use a concealer at least two shades lighter than your foundation shade.
Young women do not much make-up to look good - but when we get old and need the camouflage more than ever, uneven skin tone is a give away sign of ageing. A Mineral Make-Up Concealer is a “must have” for mature skin
Concealer will give you more coverage than your foundation blend, it is ideal for camouflaging imperfections, rosaceas, sun damaged, acne scars etc. It also helps to neutralize the look of blemishes and dark under eye circles.

Many want to use the green shade, this is not a concealer, it is a color corrector. It is similar to a concealer in ways, the green is far more effective in covering redness on the skin. If you suffer from spider veins, broken veins, redness on the cheeks, this is fantastic. Once you apply this you do need to use your regular foundation over the green, if not, you will look colored not corrected.

Tip 5- Don't use a white Mineral veil powder to set or fix your make-up.
Many older women develop fine downy hair on their face. White powder clings to those hairs making them more obvious, especially in bright light, use a Mineral veil lightly tinted with your foundation powder.

Experimentation is always necessary when creating and finding the perfect combination that works especially for you.

  1. Yes it is absolutely right that finding the most suitable type of makeup for oily skin is a daunting task. Mineral makeup can be either found in the form of loose powder or as pressed powder, cream and liquid formations. I really do not this fact before this. Good to know this.
